The following information could help you break through your brick wall!!!
1) Motive - this is, I believe, the key to a productive prayer life. We must pray with the correct motive.... for God to get the glory! Love and compassion are great "motivators" in our prayer life, but this cannot be our primary motive to see the lost come to Christ.
James 4:2-3 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

We have heard many stories of a parent praying for their child's salvation with the primary motive not being for God's Glory. You see, Christ did not come to earth to die on the cross for our children to be "better people". He came to die on the cross for God to get the glory! We must remember this!!! Movtive is very, very important but can also be very subtle. Check your motive!!!
2) Faith - We must pray in faith, believing! Faith is believing God for something that is in his will. There are many scripture references for faith, I want to look at just one.
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
There are two different words for the word, word in the Word. The first is "logos" this is the written word of God, our Bible. The second is the word "rhema", this is the word that God speaks to us. In Rom 10:17, faith comes by hearing the "rhema" of God. In Ephesians 6, Paul tells us to put on the whole armour of God. One of these pieces is the sheild of faith, we receive faith by hearing the "rhema" of God. Your "sheild of faith" is made up of the rhemas that God has spoken to you. If you are having trouble believing God, you may have some holes in your shield of faith.
more to come.....
